Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a World Heritage site which, on its western border, abuts another World Heritage site, the Serengeti National Park. The Ngorongoro crater is the world's largest inactive caldera, spanning more than 100 square miles.

Approximately 25,000 animals live in the crater, making the wildlife viewing spectacular.

Note the hippos nestled into the greenery.

                                                                          Flamingos!

An aerial view, when we flew over the crater the next morning.
